You Make It creates authentic relationships with young BAME women, both unemployed and underemployed, so that their voices can be heard and they can transform through a holistic, structured six-month-long programme. The programmes result in many positive outcomes for women, and one of the most powerful is the development of a new professional network, and social relationships with each other. What the women describe as a ‘sisterhood’ is of vital importance to those feeling marginalised and alone.

The programmes offer participants the chance to feel included in London life and enable women to gain self-awareness and confidence as well as defining visions of establishing futures related to their passions, values and talents; allowing participants to challenge other people’s limited perceptions of what is possible for them. You Make It has this year launched You Change It, courses aimed at professionals in the cultural and creative industries who want to become better allies in the fight for diversity and inclusion at work.
