Social Streets CIC is a local news and media organisation that reaches mass audiences while delivering social and economic impact. As a not-for-profit company, its charitable objective is to increase participation in local community through the provision of high-quality local journalism and media training. It publishes neighbourhood magazines, in print and online, for places, working in partnership with the community to create original, high-quality content that champions the high street and celebrates the diverse cultural identity of each place.
Social Streets also offers digital training and mentoring programmes to ensure local communities have the skills to make the most from the local digital ecosystem it develops. Its mission is to create a model of community journalism that is sustainable, scalable and replicable even in disadvantaged areas.
