Circle Collective is a charity and social enterprise partnership working in three of London’s most deprived areas: Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Lewisham. It believes that every young person who would like to work should be given the opportunity to do so, so it supports young people experiencing unemployment to secure a job in an industry they truly care about.
To get trainees started on their journey, Circle Collective offers vital work experience in its two social enterprise retail stores, providing on-site and structured customer service skills training. The partnership’s specialised Back Your Future programme provides a positive space for young people aged 16-30 to build their confidence, self-esteem and employability skills, in order to find sustainable employment and financial independence. This unique programme combines CV workshops, networking opportunities and holistic workshops for personal development, as well as confidence-building exercises and mental health and well-being sessions.
“Innovation means taking a need and creating a solution that has a young person at the heart of it, ensuring that we remain ‘asset based’ in our decision-making as well as our delivery.”
